What to do in Rio de Janeiro?
DAY 1
After having a delicious breakfast at our Hotel, you are ready to explore this wonderful city.
Copacabana Beach, one of the city's postcards, is located in front of the Rio Othon Palace. Taking a dip, walking along the famous boardwalk and visiting the waterfront crafts fair will make you understand why Copacabana is named one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. You can visit the famous Colombo confectionery located in Copacabana Fort, another tourist attraction in the city. Entrance to the Fort costs R$10.00 and gives you access to the museum, cannon dome and to enjoy the beautiful view from there. At lunchtime, the Skylab restaurant, located on the rooftop of the Rio Othon Palace, is an excellent choice. The restaurant has an incredible view and great options for lovers of prime cuts of meat.
The MAM – Museum of Modern Art is less than a 20-minute drive from Rio Othon Palace. The museum is located in Aterro do Flamengo, next to Guanabara Bay, and is a great place to visit in the afternoon. Back at the hotel, a nice drink in our Sky Lounge will help you relax after a day full of adventures.
DAY 3
After such busy days, how about a walk along the seafront?
From post 3 to 10 (Rio Othon Palace is between post 4 and 5) it is more than 5km long and you will get to know the coastal area most famous for soap operas, newspapers and films. Leme, Copacabana, Arpoador, Ipanema and Leblon are the places you will visit on this tour.
If you want to take a quick trip to the city center, you can visit AquaRio, the largest marine aquarium in South America. The entrance fee is R$140.00. There is still time to visit Lapa, stroll along the Selarón Steps and take that traditional photo.
To enjoy the sunset with a privileged view, you can take the Santa Teresa Cable Car and enjoy the moment at Parque das Ruínas.
You deserve to end the day with a dinner prepared by an executive chef at Skylab, which will be undergoing renovations and available on the 3rd floor of the Hotel from April 2024. It is expected to reopen at the end of September 2024.
DAY 4
Now that you know the most famous beaches in the South Zone of Rio, how about expanding your horizons in search of more deserted beaches in another part of the city?
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, head to the following beaches in the city's West Zone: Prainha, Grumari and Praia do Secreto. You can only get there by car. The tip is to order a ride-sharing app if you don't have any transportation in the city. The ride usually costs less than R$50.00 to Grumari, the furthest beach of the three. The sunset at Prainha is usually very popular, but it's worth the visit.
The beaches have excellent food options at the kiosks, but if you want to visit the largest shopping center in the country, head to Barra Shopping and enjoy the many restaurant options there.
Another tip is to enjoy the Pantanal in Rio, taking a boat trip to Ilha da Gigóia, where there are many restaurants and the view is also breathtaking.

DAY 5
Another day in the Marvelous City. How about starting the day with a cup of coffee?
morning in bed? Did you know that our room service menu offers 3
types of coffee? The service does not need to be scheduled.
And while you await your arrival, if you are staying in one of
our Suites with glassed-in balcony, breakfast served with that
view, it looks incredible and guarantees great photos!
Now, how about a boat ride? @dd.rio offers tours in various types of vehicles.
